Obituary for Andrew Vanderlaan

After a long battle with prostate cancer, Andrew Vanderlaan surrounded by his loving family, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21, 2011. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Rose of almost 44 years of marriage. Andrew will be forever missed by his proud children Ron (Janette), Cindy (Paul), Michelle (Craig), Peter (Sheila), Cathy (Michael) and Dave. Special Opa to Joel and Emily, Corson, Mary and Carter, Riley, Cole, Jaeden and Wesley, Levi and Allana, and Sarah. Loving brother of Abel (Hetty), Margaret (Herman), Ida (Arnold), Peter (Marlene) and sister-in-law Siny. Predeceased by brother Don(1999). Family and friends surrounded Andrew during his last hours and celebrated his life by singing his favourite hymns and sending him to his eternal home with Jesus. Visitation will be held at First Christian Reformed Church, 287 Water St, Guelph, Ontario, on Sunday July 24th from 1:30-4pm and 7-9 pm. Burial will take place at Belsyde Cemetery, (Union and Thistle St),Fergus on Monday July 25th, 2011 at 10:00 am. A Celebration of Andrew’s life will take place following the interment at 11:30, at First Christian Reformed Church, Guelph. Reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer Research . Cards available at The Graham A.
