Obituary for Albertine Elyzabeth Antje "Tiny" Holtland (Bouwman)
Albertine Elyzabeth Antje Holtland (nee Bouwman) “Tiny” - was called home to our Lord and Saviour on January 18, 2023 at the age of 57. Tiny is lovingly remembered by her husband Jan, her children and grandchildren: Linda & Ewout DeGelder (Sam, Nora, Silas), Henri & Jenien Holtland (Mattias, Riley, Emily), Arjan Holtland & Melissa Brouwer, and Nienke Holtland.
Tiny was born on September 29, 1965 in Bedum, the Netherlands. She married Jan Holtland on March 3, 1989 and together they settled on a dairy farm in Marum, Groningen, where they were blessed with four children. In 2000 they immigrated to Canada and continued dairy farming in Arthur, Ontario.
Tiny loved working alongside Jan on the farm and in the day to day tasks of homesteading. She especially enjoyed caring for the cows and calves. Around the home she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a knack for knowing what others needed at the right time, and loved giving small gifts "just because".
Tiny’s strong faith was a great example and comfort to us all, and we are comforted in the knowledge that she is now with the Lord. "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." - Psalm 23:6
Visitation will be held at Fergus North Canadian Reformed Church (6534 First Line, Fergus, ON) on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held at Fergus North Canadian Reformed Church on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Belsyde Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Anchor Association. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, and also to friends and neighbours who have been a great help to us these last weeks.
