Obituary for Albert Sobol

Passed away peacefully at Wellington Terrace in Elora, on August 2, 2010 in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Betty Sobol (2003). Father of Murray Sobol of Elora, Donna Milne (Michael) of Guelph, Pat Brown (Ron) of Guelph, Ed Sobol (Betty) of Ariss, Margaret Torrance (Ron) of Fergus, Peter Sobol (Pat) of Sauble Beach and James Sobol (Kathy) of Fergus. Albert is survived by 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, his caring sister-in-law Arlene Bridge (late Roy Bridge) and his 2 sisters Annie Granger and Lena Herron. Predeceased by sisters Mary & Jenny. As a young man, Albert worked in the nickel mines in Sudbury. He joined the Air Force and was a Flight Lieutenant in World War II. He was an avid farmer, along with a career at the CNR and was later a Customs Officer. He retired on the farm. Family will receive friends at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Wednesday, August 4th from 7 – 9pm. Legion Service to be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 6:45pm. A celebration of Albert’s life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 5th at 11:00am. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. Cards available at the funeral home (519-843-3100).
