Obituary for Agnes Danvers (Carson)

“You can take the girl out of Glasgow, but you cannae take the Glasgow out of the girl.”

That was Agnes, she enjoyed all things Glasgow. She was always trying to enlighten everyone on the way to do things or how things used to be done. She always had a poem, song or adage for the moment. It is with great sorrow that we announce her passing, our “Flower of Scotland”; she passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Agnes leaves behind her children; Danella Smith (Bill), Serena Docherty and Iain Danvers (Julie); beloved nephew Neil Barker (Jenny) and brother-in-law Jim Hamilton.

She will be missed by her 6 grandchildren, a great grandson and many nieces and nephews scattered around the world.

Agnes is predeceased by her husband Conrad (Danny), sisters; Gladys, Catriona and Barbara, and brother Henry.

“Wha’s like us? Damn few’ and they’re A’ deid”

Arrangements are entrusted to the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Agnes may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, and are greatly appreciated by her family.
