Obituary for Wilfred Melvin Baker

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Wilfred Melvin Baker, age 88 St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton.

Wilfred was born and raised in Liscomb, Nova Scotia. At a young age he and his brother, came to Ontario for work. He worked for over 43 years at what once was Continental Can until he retired in 1993. He met and married Myrtle Cousins (deceased July 2018) and they raised their three children, Patricia (Rod) Richards, William (Marilyn) Baker and predeceased by Teresa (2017). He was also “Pappy” to Christopher William (Sherrie) and great grandpa to Aidan William. He is also survived by his brother Everett Baker of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. He will also remain in the hearts of many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and their families.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wilf's name to Special Olympics, a charity near and dear to the family or one of your choice.

A Service will be held at Belsyde Cemetery, 400 Thistle St., Fergus, Ontario at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus. www.grahamgiddyfh.com
