Olive Hope  Armstrong (Norris)
Olive was born at Goldstone (October 4, 1929) and passed away at the Wellington Terrace LTC in Fergus, on July 23, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Clarence W. Armstrong (1991). Predeceased by her parents Harold and Gladys (Armstrong) Norris. Survived by a brother Robert (Marion) Norris of Fergus, a sister Gail (Barrie) Elgie of London, a brother Stan (Mary) Norris of Conestogo. Also survived by a sister-in-law Ruth (Andy) King of Hillsburgh. From a young age Olive had an interest and talent in playing the piano. In her secretarial career she served as receptionist at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus and later in the accounts department in a Hamilton hospital. While her husband Clarence took university courses, she worked in various business offices. Clarence became a property assessor and practised in Guelph for over 30 years. Funeral Service for Olive will take place at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Wednesday, July 27th, 2016 at 1:00pm, with visitation from 11:00am. Interment will take place at Belsyde Cemetery in Fergus, followed by a reception at Bethel Baptist Church, 675 Victoria Terrace in Fergus. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at the Birch Dale Unit of Wellington Terrace who have given Olive comfort and care for the past two years. For those who wish, in memoriam donations to the Canadian Bible Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
