Peacefully on May 12, 2016 at Guelph General Hospital, after a short illness, surrounded by his family at the age of 72 years. Life partner to Diane (nee: Wilson) West for almost 50 years. Best Dad Ever to Michelle (Alasdair) Campbell, Heather (Paul) Imm and Michael (Donna Cuming) West. Beloved “Boppy” to his grandchildren Alanna, Aidan, Sophie, Charlotte, Madison and Tegan. Alf will be missed by his sister Judy (Ron) Groom and his brother-in-law Peter (Donna) Wilson. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Kathleen West and his brother-in-law Matt Wilson and sister-in-law Val Wilson. Alf will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Alf was a Tool and Die apprentice at W.C. Wood and worked for over 30 years at Imperial Tobacco. Visitation will take place at The Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus on Sunday, May 15th, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A funeral service will take place in the Funeral Home Chapel On Monday, May 16th, 2016 at 1:00 pm.
